Connected by one way of living, three women from across North America have united with one goal in mind: to eat their way to better health.

Using the macrobiotic approach to life, the three women will use this blog to: document change; share recipes; and reflect on the effects of incorporating a new way of life into their homes.

The hope is that this "balanced" macrobiotic diet will allow the bodies of all three women to focus more on healing and health, and less on hunger and digestion- freeing them to do whatever their hearts desire!

The Women

Dawn: American mom of fantastic twin boys. Texas.

Sheryl: American mom of one sweet little girl. Washington.

Jace: Canadian Elementary Education Student. British Columbia.

Jace: When I was told that I'd need to wait just over three months to receive a laparoscopy so that the doctors could determine what was causing my pain, I decided enough was enough.

Regardless of the diagnosis, I was determined to see if I could remove any and all factors that might be exaggerating/causing/masking my true symptoms. If I found no change at least I would know that I'd done all I can. Conversely, If I did experience positive change, then regardless of my diagnosis, I knew that I could make life more bearable for my future.

After much consultation and conversation with my sister, Dawn, we decided that macrobiotics might just be the lifestyle that would help me achieve the sort of goal I was after. I was really turned on by the balance and organic nature of macro. Of all the diets and systems I looked into, Macrobiotics seemed to give my body the clean slate I was looking for without requiring me to starve my body, or drink detoxifying, synthetic potions.

Knowing that Dawn was going to take the plunge with me, and then finding out shortly after that her friend, Sheryl, was also interested confirmed my decision. The next thing I knew the blog was created, and Dawn, Sheryl and I were checking in daily to see how our new way of life was settling in. Thank you Dawn and Sheryl for being just the kind of support a girl needs.
